How do I handle cravings?
No, seriously, that’s a question. I have absolutely no idea.
I’ve changed my diet rather drastically in the past year. While most nights a year ago would have been the majority of a frozen pizza for dinner, I’m now eating seasoned grilled zuchinni and onions, olives, carrots, and tomatoes.
In fact, I’m actually looking forward to slicing up some onions and dicing tomatoes tonight, adding a little balsamic vinagrette garlic and basil, and calling that a “low carb bruschetta.” I think it’s like 50 calories for an entire plate.
But every weekend, without fail, I’ll be hanging out with friends at a bar or at a wedding (why is every single person I know getting married when I’m trying to lose weight?), and I’ll DESTROY a burger and fries, or buffet, or all you can eat ice cream bar (lookin at you, Heather).
I’ve tried eating beforehand, to be too full, and I find myself giving into a basket of fries anyway. I’ve tried eating gum, but as soon as the flavor is gone, I’m ordering a Pizza. I’ve tried bringing a sack of almonds or my own food, and I always end up eating more anyway.
I’ve been writing with a self help bent today, but man, I just have no good answers for this one.
